The restaurant was first mentioned in 1897, when it was led by Mici and her husband Lojze. At the time, the restaurant also served as a stopping point for wagon-drivers. The restaurant was taken over by their son Lojze and his wife Valeria, who studied at the Monastery cooking school before the Second World War. She transferred her knowledge to their daughter Katja Kavčič, who nurtured the Vipava cuisine and eventually elevated it to the level of the best restaurant in Slovenia. Anyone who ate Katja's meals in Pri Lojzetu restaurant in the village of Dornberk left the restaurant feeling renewed. In addition to the harmonious and sophisticated flavours of the Vipava Valley, Katja added something unique to her dishes: her soul. Tomaž Kavčič, also known as the poet of tastes, famous for his cooking techniques and top ingredients, took over the baton from his mother in the shape of a golden spoon.
